Danger of secondhand smoke

Standing somewhere or sitting at home in one place. Someone is smoking nearby and the smoke is in your breath. Many people must have been in such a situation. This is basic smoking or indirect smoking. That is, the smoker inhales the smoke. This is also called ্ second hand smoking.

When someone smokes all the blessings but not go to his lungs. It also enters the breath of people around. Those exposed to this second hand smoke i.e. non-smokers are also at risk of other diseases including lung cancer and heart disease. That is, as a smoker himself is at risk of cancer, he also puts the people around him at risk. Smoking smoke remains invisible. No matter how careful you think you are, smoking is in another room. Smoke from one room will spread to other rooms. The harmful substances of smoking smoke remain in the air for two to three hours. Even with the windows open, smoke from one room will travel into the other.

The World Health Organization says that 8 million people die every year due to tobacco use, 1.2 million of which are victims of basic smoking, i.e. secondhand smoke. Many are suffering from various physical problems at the end of life. Everyone around the smoker is at risk. Right from children to the elderly are victims of secondhand smoke. However, children are at the greatest harm and health risk.

Besides, it is very harmful for pregnant mothers. Second-hand smoke can cause damage to the pride's children. Second-hand smoke can also cause low birth weight and other complications in children, including death.

The World Health Organization says that all forms of tobacco are harmful, with no safe level. According to the agency, there are more than 7,000 chemicals in cigarette smoke. Of which at least 70 elements ্ can cause cancer. "When non-smokers are exposed to secondhand smoke, their chance of developing lung cancer increases by 20 to 30 percent," says Angela Ciobanu, an official at the World Health Organization.  In addition, second-hand smoke increases the risk of heart attacks.

According to the World Health Organization, sixty-five thousand children die every year due to second-hand smoke. Children exposed to secondhand smoke are at various health risks. World Health Organization official Angela Ciobanu said about this, "The risk of respiratory problems in children increases by 50 to 100 percent due to basic smoking."  Besides, the risk of asthma and sudden infant death syndrome is also created in them.  "

Other problems that can occur in children are:

  • Respiratory infections such as: bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, allergies, asthma, shortness of breath

  • Cold-related problems like frequent sneezing, coughing, frequent earaches, ear infections, hearing loss

  • Bacterial infection. The possibility of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or sudden death also increases. This can lead to sudden death of the baby during sleep for no specific reason. The only way to do this is to create a smoke-free environment among your family and friends. The best solution to this is to quit ্ smoking.

But if you can't quit smoking now then you have to make sure that cigarette smoke doesn't get into anyone's breath.  Smoking is also not allowed in the car.  Special health agencies say that "while some of the harmful effects of second-hand smoke have been highlighted, the extent of harm worldwide is high".  So it is most important for smokers to give up this bad habit thinking about their family.
